Executive Pastor

Responsible to: Lead Pastor

Contract: Full-time (37.5 hours per week) 

Salary: Starting from £44,442

City on a Hill is a multi-site church - gathering in 7 Communities including our Online Community - serving Edinburgh, the Lothians and beyond. We have a wonderful staff team who help serve and lead our members of City on a Hill, and are looking for an Executive Pastor to join the team. The Executive Pastor is a key leadership role at City on a Hill as this individual will oversee the day to day running of the church on behalf of the Lead Pastor. The role requires someone who has experience of leading and thrives in a pioneering environment, able to lead others with courage, conviction and empathy while managing multiple priorities. The Executive Pastor will oversee the organisational operations and strategic initiatives whilst supporting the Lead Pastor in their vision and calling.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assisting, advising and supporting the Lead Pastor to shape, develop and implement the fulfilment of the church vision
• In partnership with the Lead Pastor, guide and support the staff and the day to day running of the church
• Helping staff, ministries and Communities align in relation to the church vision, values, priorities and other strategic matters and their working collaboratively and individually
• Providing support and guidance to church staff to maximise their impact, and the overall effectiveness of their ministry and the wider church
• Ensuring all governance matters are handled diligently
