Key responsibilities:
- To provide trauma-informed practical and emotional support to victims of rape and sexual assault.
- To advocate for the needs and wellbeing of the client throughout the forensic medical examination process.
- To work as part of the Crisis Worker Team in the Swindon & Wiltshire SARC and forensic nurse/medical examiners in the delivery of high standards of service and clinical care. You will provide vital information to assist the clients in making informed decisions about their care and choices.
- To effectively risk assess and support the needs of clients, considering any safeguarding or child protection concerns, domestic abuse risks and other risk factors which could indicate the client is a vulnerable adult.
- To provide tailored information and options for each client, offering onward referrals and signposting to onward support services.
- To attend regular team meetings, training sessions, supervisions and awareness sessions, and provide administrative support to the SARC office on ad-hoc occasions.
Essential requirements:
- Full clean driving license with access to a car for work purposes
- Enhanced DBS Check
- Willingness to provide a DNA sample for elimination processes with the forensic provider.
