United Response is a leading national charity providing support to young people and adults with special educational needs (SEN) learning disabilities and mental health needs. We believe in championing the right of disabled people to live, work, socialise and participate in the community, free of discrimination and unnecessary boundaries.
Who we need
We are looking for a DSL who will take lead responsibility for safeguarding across the College. As a member of our Senior Leadership Team you will develop, implement and review the colleges safeguarding policies, procedures and develop the safeguarding strategy. You will also actively build a strong culture of safeguarding and ensure that this is imbedded within our unique Education Services.
You will be the main point of contact for any safeguarding concerns and ensure all staff are fully trained and updated and also advise and support other members of staff on student welfare and safeguarding matters and work closely with the student to ensure they are safe and feel fully supported within the college.
You will also be required to maintain clear effective communication with the Head and other Senior leaders across United Response and also establish strong working relationships with external agencies including social services ,health professionals and the police.
