The Family Support Worker will share and embrace the vision of developing an innovative Gloucestershire Family Hub model which puts the well-being of all families, children, and young people at the heart of its work; leading to systemic and transformative change for individuals and the community.
Main Responsibilities:
- You will collaborate with team members, attend multi-agency meetings, and actively participate in the development and delivery of home-based family support services.
- You will provide support to children and families, including practical and emotional assistance delivered through a flexible program. Also, you will provide home visits, support groups, and structured learning sessions held in the Family Center, family homes, and community settings.
- You will coordinate and ensure the quality of home-based child and family support services, offering practical and emotional support through various methods such as home visits, workshops, and structured sessions.
Main Requirements:
- To lead and support safe, reliable, high-quality family support service across the district and integrate with existing provisions to ensure that services are not duplicated and multiagency working is upheld.
- To ensure communication is established with other services to establish a culture of mutual trust and respect.
- To undertake child-focused assessments with children and families and in partnership with parents/carers and professionals to establish an understanding of the child and parent’s needs, any existing or potential risk and to gain knowledge of the ‘Childs’ lived experience’ and parental challenges.
- Experience relevant for your effectiveness in the role might be from various sectors: health, education, social care, youth work. The list is not exclusive and if you are passionate about supporting families, we would still like to hear from you.
