Why Action for Children?

Working here is more than a job. Everyone in the Action for Children family is passionate about protecting and supporting children. It's the sense of purpose that drives us every single day. Because we know that, when we work together, we can make a huge difference to bring lasting improvements to vulnerable children's lives.

A bit about the role

We manage and deliver a range of programmes designed to help young people thrive in adult life – including support into the world of work. You'll focus on developing co-beneficial relationships with a wide range of employers, local authorities, and other agencies.

  • Liaising directly with employers, representing Action for Children at a range of employer forums and stakeholder events. Your talents as a networker can make a real difference to the life chances of young people with much to offer the world.
  • Monitoring and reviewing young people's progress while on placements – so you can directly see the positive impact your work is having.
  • Delivering employer expectations and interview skills sessions to groups of young people participating in the Youthbuild programmes
  • Working closely with colleagues to monitor the progress of trainees out on placement/employment
  • Organising and implementing workload, including up to date records of activity, obtaining employers liability insurance details and Health & Safety checklists.
