Community Outreach Advisor

Key responsibilities:

The Community Outreach Advisor will:

• Work within the integrated Domestic Abuse Service – Safer Futures.
• Provide a high quality practical and emotional support to people of all genders living in the community who are living with, or have lived with, domestic abuse/violence
• Develop tailored support plans with a focus on reducing the risk of harm, increasing personal safety and responding to individual need.
• Raise awareness within hard-to-reach groups within the local community about domestic abuse and support available
• Be able to adjust their practice to deliver a truly individualized intervention that is based on complex need and risk
• Identify and make links with existing projects and community services and to develop joint support where appropriate
• Work within a crisis intervention team and will have the ability to engage and work flexibly to demonstrate positive outcomes for service users
• Follow First Light procedures and protocols as well as those from other services so that the safety of the clients is kept central to any process
• Maintain accurate case notes in line with data protection
• Ensure that clients get the services to which they are entitled

Essential requirements:

• Must hold valid driving license and be willing to travel to face to face appointments.

Salary: £23,400 per annum rising to £23,868 per annum on successful completion of probation.

Hours: 18.5 hours per week split over Monday, Tuesday and Friday

Holiday: 25 days (pro rata) rising incrementally to 30 days (pro rata) after five years, plus all bank holidays.

Base: Covering MidCornwall, office in Pool Innovation Centre, Trevenson Road, Pool, Cornwall TR15 3PL

Contract: Fixed term to 31st March 2025
