Pie Clinical Psychologist

Contract: Permanent, Part-Time (15 hours per week)

Salary: £23,479.20 per annum. Salary offer will be commensurate with NHS Agenda for Change (AfC) Band 8a scale. There is flexibility within the scale according to experience and consideration will be given to London Higher Costs Allowances for the London post.

Location: North London (Harringay/Hackney/Harrow) based within Centrepoint Housing First Services.

We have an amazing opportunity for HCPC Registered Clinical Psychologist to join our expanding Centrepoint PIE Team to support the delivery of a Psychologically Informed Environment (PIE). PIE is a strategic priority for Centrepoint following PIE developments across the wider homeless sector and reflects the charity’s commitment to psychological practice across the organization to improve our outcomes for our staff and the young people that use our services. 

You will be approximately two years post qualification, preferably with some experience of working with ‘complex’ needs and an interest in working with young people who have experienced homelessness to #changethestory. This regional role will support the delivery of PIE across the charity, within specific services in London. The role will involve extensive staff consultation, training and reflective practice within Centrepoint Services, as well as supporting research and policy development across the organisation. There will also be opportunities to deliver clinical psychology therapeutic interventions and undertake neuropsychological assessments to young people in conjunction with the Centrepoint’s Therapeutic Services Team with your region.  

What you’ll be doing...

• Act as a PIE Psychologist to support the roll out of Centrepoint’s Psychologically Informed Environment (PIE), with the support of the wider PIE Team.
• Support the implementation of PIE Training, as well as other psychologically informed training sessions, for Centrepoint staff within your allocated services.
• Lead reflective practice sessions for Centrepoint staff teams within your allocated services.
• Offer your psychological skills and knowledge to support and provide psychological consultation to staff within your allocated Centrepoint services.
• Deliver, in conjunction with the regional Centrepoint Therapeutic Services Team, neuropsychological assessments / psychological therapy interventions to homeless young people in your allocated services.
• Ensure the highest levels of safeguarding and risk management for our young people.
• Support research and policy work within Centrepoint, in conjunction with the Head of PIE.
• Promote diversity and equality throughout all practices.
• Keep up to date with the current evidence base, as well as future trends or issues within the sector.

What we’d be looking for from you...

• HCPC Registered Clinical Psychologist with approximately two years post qualification experience.
• Some experience of working with ‘complex’ needs, ideally homelessness or young people.
• An interest in working in the charity sector with frontline staff and young people, who have experienced homelessness to #changethestory
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to adapt and engage with a variety of young people, colleagues and external partners.
• Ability to prioritise and manage workload, working both autonomously and seeking appropriate clinical supervision as required.
• IT literate, including Microsoft Office & SPSS type programs.
