What we are looking for

Experience is essential for this role along with your values. If you combine experience, empathy and good communication skills with confidence, a desire to help others and a willingness to learn you have all the main ingredients of a good Support Worker.

As a Support Worker you would be responsible for supporting one young gentleman who lives in his own home. He has a love for gaming, trains & going for woodland walks but alongside this the person we support also likes to spend time on his own in a quiet atmosphere, therefore you would need to embody these qualities into your role.

Here at United Response we are passionate about providing person-centred support, what that means is that your role will change depending on what the people we support wants to do. The gentleman we support in Radstock has a great character & mixture of hobbies and interests which Support Workers need to encourage.

  • Assisting with jobs around the house
  • Accompanying the people we support on leisure trips
  • Dealing with some behaviours that challenge
  • Building rapport with the people we support

As part of your role, you will be using a digital app called Nourish, where all care and support plans of the people we support are held. Experience of using a digital or mobile app would be desirable however full training will be given

What you get from us

As a Support Worker you will receive:

  • £250 Welcome Bonus
  • Pension contribution
  • Access to free occupational health, physiotherapy, counselling and advice services
  • Fully paid training and access to nationally recognised qualifications
  • Paid DBS
  • Access to an online shopping platform with discounts from over 3,500 retailers
