We are looking to appoint an experienced, motivated, enthusiastic and flexible Nurse to join our experienced team based within the Tradeston area of Glasgow.

About Us - Turning Point Scotland’s Glasgow Alcohol and Drugs Crisis Service

Turning Point Scotland Glasgow Alcohol and Drug Crisis Service offers integrated health and social care which provides low threshold, direct access services for people experiencing a crisis due to alcohol or other drug use including people who may be experiencing homelessness. These include a crisis residential unit, 24-hour Injecting Equipment Provision (needle exchange), wound care, harm reduction advice, signposting and naloxone training and provision.

Proudly partnering with NHSGGC and the Health and Social Care Partnership for over 27 years, we have provided residential and direct access crisis services in a safe environment that challenges stigma and provides the advice and information required to reduce harm and give a space to reflect and consider the next steps towards recovery.

We are committed to helping individuals begin their journey to recovery whilst utilising harm reduction approaches, placing safety at the forefront of care delivery. We are passionate in encouraging citizens who use the service to improve and maintain relationships with family, friends and communities to build on their sense of belonging in society.

Benefits package  

Turning Point Scotland operates a List of Approved Relief Workers who may be contacted by services when there is a need to engage additional workers in order to provide the required support to someone who uses our services. Relief Workers are primarily deployed to cover periods of leave, or sickness absence and to provide additional support during periods of peak activity etc

When there is suitable work available within a service, a manager will contact Relief Workers offer them a shift/series of shifts. As a Relief Worker you will be well-placed to fit your work around your existing work or other commitments and you will be under no pressure or obligation to accept work from us if it does not suit you to do so. Once work is offered and accepted by you however, there is an expectation that you will make every effort to attend to undertake that shift. Your reliability in this regard is very important to our services and to the people we support who will be expecting you.
