Independent Advocate – Closing date 1 July 2026

Permanent position subject to a successful 6-month probationary period

£27,286 pa full time 37 hours per week, part time or job share considered

Excellent benefits including flexible working, including death in service life insurance, 21 days holiday rising to 26 days with service plus bank holidays and 3 discretionary days at Christmas.

Swindon Advocacy Movement (SAM) is seeking to appoint an Independent Advocate to provide advocacy support to clients living with support needs including (but not limited to) learning disabilities and/or Autism, mental ill health or dementia living in Swindon and who are experiencing crisis or significant change in their lives.

The successful candidate will provide statutory advocacy under The Care Act and Mental Capacity Act :

  • Enabling individuals to have a voice.
  • Enabling individuals to have control over their care and support and their life.
  • Ensuring that the individuals being supported are treated with dignity and respect.
  • Ensuring that the individuals Human Rights are upheld.

This service enables vulnerable people to participate as fully as possible in any decision to maintain their independence and secure the rights and services they are entitled to.
