Help shape the next chapter of the UK's leading feminist economics think tank.

The UK Women's Budget Group (WBG) is the only UK-wide think tank focused on exploring the economy through a gendered lens. For more than 30 years, our research and advocacy have brought feminist economic analysis into policy and public debate, connecting academics, the women's voluntary sector, think tanks and policymakers.

We are now seeking an influential and ambitious new Chair to lead our Board at an important point in WBG's development.

At a time when women's rights and previous gains are increasingly under pressure, rigorous feminist economic analysis and evidence are needed more than ever. WBG is building on its established authority while strengthening its in-house economic research, broadening its reach and partnerships, and developing a more diverse and sustainable funding base.

This is an opportunity to help position WBG for its next chapter: strengthening our influence in mainstream economic and political debate and building new relationships across politics, business, philanthropy and wider public life.

Working closely with the Executive Director, the Chair will provide strategic leadership to the Board, support the continued development of WBG's governance and act as an influential ambassador and advocate for the organisation.

We are particularly interested in hearing from people who bring:

• Significant leadership experience at Board or equivalent senior level, with a strong track record of governance and experience of chairing senior-level discussions and decision-making
• Strong strategic judgement and political acuity
• Significant personal credibility and networks that can enhance WBG's visibility, reach and influence
• The ability to convene and build relationships across different political perspectives and sectors
• Strong financial and commercial awareness, including an understanding of organisational sustainability and income diversification
• A strong personal commitment to gender equality and alignment with WBG's purpose and values

There is no single route to this role. We are interested in accomplished leaders from across business, public life, economics, finance, philanthropy, civil society and beyond who can bring the judgement, influence and networks to help WBG extend its reach and impact.

WBG holds a pluralist view of feminism and gender systems, one that is inclusive and that recognises there are distinct discriminations experienced by different women. We know that women's experiences of the economy are shaped by more than gender alone. Our commitment to gender equality requires us to take diversity, equity and inclusion seriously in how we work, how we recruit, and how expertise and lived experience shapes our research.
