Job Requirements/Description

Your role

Rethink Mental Illness are an organisation whose common purpose is to help those who are severely impacted by mental illness. Imagine being part of an organisation whose common purpose is to help those who are severely impacted by mental illness. We believe that everyone should be treated with respect and dignity – and that’s why equity is one of our core values.

We are currently recruiting for full or part-time Peer Group Facilitator & Support Workers to be part of our team providing excellent quality of support to people using the Sequoia Tree Service.

A Peer Group Facilitator & Support Worker is someone who will have lived experience of recovery from distress that has been understood or diagnosed as ‘personality disorder, or Complex Emotional Needs (CEN). Someone who has been on their own recovery journey, explicitly drawing upon and sharing their lived experiences of recovery from mental illness, and tells their own recovery story, to inspire hope, model recovery and inform people with lived experience as well as supporting people in finding their own path to recovery. A peer group facilitator & support worker may also be or have been a carer or close supporter of someone with a personality disorder or CEN. Specifically for this peer role, however, it is essential that you can demonstrate your own lived experience of having a personality disorder or CEN.

This is an opportunity that has direct influence on the services provided in Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire to be part of a dynamic team that is working towards breaking down barriers and ensuring people get the right support at the right time.

Working within a multi-professional, innovative and creative team providing high-quality, safe and person-centred support in the community – most importantly delivering great outcomes for people.

This full-time role (35 hours per week) is ‘field based’ - meaning you will work from home and also in Avon & Wiltshire Partnership (AWP) and community locations. You will be provided with IT equipment required for this role including a laptop and smartphone, and travel expenses will be covered when required to work across the above localities.
